— Alaska’s prevalence of large fires has been opposite of that in the lower 48 due to large-scale weather patterns, such as the position of the jet stream. This data was sourced from the NIFC, plus the addition of the Anaktuvuk fire. Although this data set is the best available, it is unlikely to be complete.
