— At the bottom of the photo, deformed lake sediments are broken and floating in the homogenized sediment. The roughness of the homogenous looking sediment is because there are numerous tiny mud-balls (rip-ups) in the sand, a feature also seen in the surface deposit from this liquefaction event. Above that are feathery elutriation structures that likely formed as water escaped from the liquefied sediment. And at the very top you can see the upper edge of the liquefied layer, where the overlying layer is broken and intruded.
