— Habitat: Rocks, pilings. Low intertidal
Description: Long, yellow-brown solitary tunicate with prominent longitudinal wrinkles. Hanging from rocks by a distinct stalk. Red siphons, one straight, one curved.
Notes: Could only be S. yakutatensis or S. montereyensis. Van Name says the main difference is that S. yakutatensis has a stouter stalk, not as long as the body. No real mention of S. yakutatensis anywhere else. Given location found (Yakutat), and the fact that mine do have longer bodies than stalks, I'm thinking S. yakutatensis.
