— Colonial tunicate
Habitat: Rocks, low intertidal. Have found it on White Rock beach.
Description: Appears like a pink conglomerate rock. Smooth surface, tunic is translucent and has embedded sand or sand-looking particles, making the tunicate appear like pink concrete. Zooids are red, and arranged very clearly in round systems.
Notes: Nothing on the BC tunicate guide fits the characteristics, and I've never seen anything that looks like this in any guide.
