— Habitat: We found this on bricks attached to settling plates in Seldovia fall 2016.
Description: Yellowish solitary tunicate, covered with hairs. Bright red siphons on top with clear four-lobed openings. Hairs are fine, and some have small branches near the end. No stalk.
Notes: Similar to B. villosa, but the hairs of B. villosa are shorter, wider, and have no branches. B villosa is brighter red. Every B. villosa I've seen has a very obvious stalk. B. echinata is a non-stalked Boltenia whose description on the BC tunicate key seems to match the tunicate we found.
