This flat patch in a glacier provides safe passage walking on flat ice between arcing crevasses.
— Sunset was fast approaching, but we hoped for nicer campsites and pushed on until deep dusk, walking over wriggling ice worms. This land of ice and rock provided little in the way of wind-blocks.
